Terms of Service

The rules for using TinyDesk AI Lab, including photo consent, AI-generated content, credits and acceptable use.

These Terms govern your use of tinydeskailab.com (“TinyDesk AI Lab”, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. The Service

TinyDesk AI Lab lets you upload photos and generate short AI videos in a desk-concert style. Videos are created by third-party AI models; results vary and may not perfectly resemble the people pictured. TinyDesk AI Lab is an independent product inspired by the desk-concert format. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NPR, any “Tiny Desk” program, or any artist.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy credits. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

3. Photo consent and likeness — your promises

Every time you upload a photo you confirm that:

  • you own the photo or have the right to use it;
  • every identifiable person in it has agreed to appear in an AI-generated video, and anyone under 18 is shown only with the consent of their parent or guardian (you);
  • the photo does not show a celebrity, politician or other public figure, and is not used to impersonate anyone;
  • the photo contains no nudity, sexual content, violence or hateful material.

You are solely responsible for the photos you upload and the videos you create and share.

4. AI-generated content

  • Videos are synthetic. Don’t present them as real footage of real events or as a real performance by any artist.
  • Label your videos as AI-generated when you share them, and follow the rules of the platforms you post to.
  • Don’t use the Service to harass, defame, deceive, defraud or sexualize anyone, to create political disinformation, or to suggest that a person or brand endorses something they don’t.
  • Music in generated videos is original AI-generated audio. We do not provide copyrighted songs or lyrics.

5. Your content and license

You keep whatever rights you have in your photos and videos. You grant us a limited license to store, process and transmit them to our providers solely to operate the Service for you. Subject to these Terms and the AI model providers’ terms, you may use the videos you generate for personal and commercial purposes.

6. Credits and payments

  • Rendering a video costs credits as shown before you generate. Credit packs are one-time purchases processed by Stripe; there are no subscriptions.
  • Credits do not expire, have no cash value and can’t be transferred.
  • If a render fails, the credits are returned automatically.
  • Refunds for purchases are covered by our Refund Policy.

7. Prohibited use

Don’t reverse engineer or overload the Service, scrape it, bypass limits, resell access, or use it in violation of any law. We may refuse, remove or report content and suspend accounts that break these Terms.

8. Takedowns and complaints

If you believe content created with the Service infringes your rights or uses your likeness without consent, email support@tinydeskailab.com with the details. We’ll review and act promptly.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
